Field Note #001

📅 July 2026 iMIXAR

For months I believed the biggest challenge was building a better virtual try-on.

More accurate rendering. Better lighting compensation. More realistic shaders.

Then I started reading hundreds of customer reviews.

Almost nobody was asking for augmented reality.

Instead, people kept asking the same question in different ways:

"Is this really the color I'll receive?"

That changed how I think about the project.

The problem isn't the absence of AR. The problem is uncertainty.

From now on, every feature in IMIXAR has to answer one question:

Does it reduce uncertainty before buying?

If the answer is no, it probably doesn't belong in the product.

Context

Around 500 customer reviews collected from Iranian cosmetic stores.

What changed?

WebAR is no longer the product.

It's one tool inside a larger decision-making experience.

Next experiment

Integrate WebAR into problem-oriented buying guides instead of presenting it as a standalone feature.

Every Field Note captures a real decision made while building IMIXAR. Some ideas will survive. Others won't. The notes remain either way.

This Field Note came from a real prototype.
