Field Note #010
When I started building IMIXAR, I thought the hardest part would be execution.
Finding the right technology.
Solving difficult technical problems.
Making the experience work.
But after a while, I discovered a different challenge.
Ideas were never the problem.
There were always more things we could build.
A better rendering approach.
A new feature.
A different experiment.
A new direction.
The problem was not finding the next idea.
The problem was choosing which ideas deserved our limited time.
During the technical development of IMIXAR, this appeared as feature decisions.
Later, it appeared in a different form:
Content ideas.
Experiments.
SEO pages.
New ways to reach users.
Each one could be valuable.
But Building everything means learning nothing deeply.
The goal is not to create more possibilities. The goal is to discover which possibility is worth pursuing.
Context
While planning the next phase of IMIXAR, I noticed that having many possible directions can be as challenging as having no direction.
What changed?
I started evaluating ideas by the learning they could create, not only by how interesting they were.
Next experiment
Choose one customer problem and let content, experiments, and technology answer the same question.
Every Field Note captures a real decision made while building IMIXAR. Some ideas will survive. Others won't. The notes remain either way.
