At first I thought color accuracy was mostly an engineering problem.

I was wrong.

When working with well-documented international products, calibration was possible.

Reference swatches existed.

Professional photos existed.

Years of community comparisons existed.

Everything changed when I moved to local products.

Some products had no reliable swatches.

Some official product names didn't match the perceived color.

Sometimes customer photos disagreed with both.

I realized something uncomfortable:

No rendering engine can be more trustworthy than the data behind it. Technology can improve presentation. It cannot invent reliable references where none exist.

What changed?

Color databases may become a more valuable asset than rendering technology itself.

Evaluate whether trustworthy product selection can compensate for inconsistent product data.
